CCTV video surveillance is successful in reducing and preventing crimes and is helpful in prosecuting individuals caught in the act of committing a crime

A. Video Surveillance As A Traffic Safety Tool
Urban video surveillance systems are essential components of traffic regulation in USA . These systems are successful in assisting authorities to regulate traffic flow through busy inner city streets, detecting traffic jams and roadside disturbances.
The San Francisco Police Department recently began a passive CCTV video surveillance program to monitor vehicle traffic at busy intersections of the city. According to a police department spokesperson, the surveillance program was prompted by public demand to crack down on "speeders" who consistently run red lights and endanger other vehicles and pedestrians.69 The surveillance cameras are electronically activated once a red light change occurs at an intersection and record the front and rear license plate of all cars in view. A moving violation ticket is sent to the registered owner of vehicles involved in infractions

B. CCTV surveillance is also very common in the American workplace. According to the publisher of Privacy Journal, an employer, manager, board member, or supervisor can legally videotape employees with hidden cameras if they suspect wrongdoing. CCTV surveillance is one of 5 legally approved methods to observe suspected employees. Businesses also rely on CCTV video surveillance to detect sexual harassment in the workplace and to observe employees outside the workplace who may be involved in medical malpractice or worker compensation lawsuits.45 Some research suggests that American workers feel safer in the presence of security camera equipment.46

Note: Workers has to really work because the managers can tell who is fooling around & who is really working hard……and also this prevent employee stealing company properties….

D. Toll Bridges --- has 3 different pay lanes. 
      1. Pay Toll Cash lanes    ---- you pay cash money
      2. Pre-paid Tolls = E-Pass or  FastTrak Lane --- pay by electronic payment
      3. CarPool Lanes -------------No charge  -----this lane is free for cars with 2 or more passengers inside the car.  It is against the law to drive in the car pool lane if you are alone.



Bus must drive on bus lane only and Cars with two or more people car pooling must drive in the car pool lane. It is against the law to drive in the car pool lane if you are alone. You will pay a fine if caught by camera or by the actual police patrol.

If your vehicle does not have a toll tag, the system classifies you as a violator and cameras take photos of your vehicle and your license plate for processing.


Warning sign as you approach the toll bridge----- if you have fastrak toll tag, go to the E-Pass  prepaid lane, If you Donot have fastrak you have to go to the pay toll pay cash lane.



Freeway signs ahead at least two miles before you reach the toll bridge, so you could change and go to the right toll lane , if you have fastrak, go to that lane or if you donot have fasttrack go to the Pay toll cash lane only.

And about dun sa FASTRACK meron dito sa amin nyan along sa 91 Freeway parang yung sa Pinas din yan eh kaso dito pinapadala na lang yung bill sa pinas yata kailangan mo lagyan ng LOAD parang cellphone !!

1. Department of Motor Vehicles, which has begun preventing people with unpaid FasTrak fines from registering their cars.

2.  it recently hired a collection agency to go after toll evaders who ignore their citations.

3. Legislation that would allow the authority to impound or boot vehicles whose owners have large numbers of unpaid FasTrak tolls

4.  to revoke the owners' driver's licenses.

5 .  the state Franchise Tax Board to collect unpaid FasTrak tolls and violation fines.

6. Violators, whose license plates are photographed by cameras, now receive bills in the mail, assessing a $25 fine plus the toll owed. If the bill is not paid, the fine increases to $70 plus the toll. If that is ignored, a hold is placed on the owner's car registration until it's paid.

yan lang ang ayoko dito sa california eh ang mahal ng bayad sa mga citation ... di ba nila ako pedeng bigayan ng discount palagi naman ako nahuhuli  :duh: ,

Yes you are right! CCTV camera is an effective crime prevention tool. It plays an important role in fighting and preventing local and international crime. If I only have the power, I will tell my countrymen that it is necessary to put CCTV camera on their houses.
