direct recording electronic (DRE) voting machines

Voters used a computer voting machine to vote

Rows of electronic computer voting machines

Computerized Voting in the whole country ------Fast, Quick, Easy
winners are projected in matters of hours after the polling place is closed. ……Losers graciously  bow in defeat & make concessions speech in matters of hours after the winner is proclaimed on TV networks nationwide broadcasting. Within one day after the voting, we already know who are the winners.
Computerized voting is very effective, accurate & there is  no cheating. Once voters press the button in
the booth, the count is automatically counted & transmitted to the main election commission computer system.
Losers does not complain being cheated……..quietly they accept defeat. This is the nice thing about our politicians here.  They knew , there is always a NEXT time for them to run again.

direct recording electronic (DRE) voting machines
DRE Voting System  -------there are 3 ways to Vote

1. Vote by Mail Ballot - mail your paper  ballot before election day starts
2. Ballot Now - using paper ballot&  a scanner computer voting machine
3. Eslate or Electronic Voting using Computer machine = touchtone screen

===================================================

Voting system
All direct recording electronic (DRE) voting machines used after January 1, 2006, must have an accessible voter-verified paper audit trail, pursuant to California Elections Code Section 19250. All voters voting on an electronic voting machine should review and verify their ballot choices on this printed paper record, prior to finalizing and casting their ballot. Once the ballot is cast, this paper record of the ballot is retained inside the voting machine as part of the election audit trail to verify the accuracy of the votes recorded. In accordance with California law, voters do not get a printed paper record of their vote choices.

1. vote-by-mail ballots
….you will receive an official ballot paper in the mail……You use this ballot to vote, select the candidates, sign the ballot, mail it before the election day starts………..this saves time for people who are busy & does not want to go in person on election day to vote.  There is a cut off date to mail it, if you mail it too late, it wont be counted.

=================================================

2. Ballot Now
receive your ballot from a poll worker and proceed to your voting booth.
Use a blue or black pen to completely fill the box next to your choice. Do not mark more choices than allowed for each contest.

[Image: paperballotzh5.th.jpg]
Paper ballot…..to be scan then drop into the ballot slot inside the machine or a separate ballot box .
To vote for a write-in candidate, make sure to fill the box next to "Write-In" and write the candidate's name on the line below.

Voting machine…….scan your ballot then drop it into the slot or a separate box

Select your candidate on the paper ballot, scan the ballot with the computer machine, then drop your ballot into the slot inside the machine.
=============================================

3. eSlate ---------electronic voting using touch tone screen-----prints out a paper copy of your vote
Sign in at the polls. If you would prefer to use a paper ballot instead of the eSlate, you may request one at this time. You will receive an Access Code. Turn the "SELECT" wheel until the language of your choice is highlighted in red (if multiple languages are available in your county). Press "ENTER" to make your selection.

Re: History is about to be made soon in USA Politics Presidential Election 2008
Presidential Winner in USA  is Determined by the highest no.of  Electoral Votes NOT by popular votes:

Election in USA is very confusing & complicated Process
1. First  is the  Primary Election ----several candidates ( of each party ) will bid,  to be the Nominee for the Presidency……Who ever wins the highest DELEGATE votes is the front runner.  Example: Republican Party -- John McCain won the Nomination
2. General Election ---  the 2 winners of both party will run against each other to win the Presidential election:  EX: John McCain for Republican  and Barack Obama for Democrat party
3.  Electoral Vote ----whoever has the highest no. of electoral votes is the WINNER.  The winner is proclaimed based on the Electoral Vote NOT on the Popular actual no. of votes by the people.

The Winning Votes is based on 2 process:
    1. Popular Vote -----total  no. of  votes  by the people counted  in all 50 States
      2. Electoral Vote --- is determined by the number of population in each states.

It gave rural areas and smaller states a slightly larger role in determining the outcome of the election, and it continues to do so today;
1. for example, the largest state by population, California, only has about one electoral vote for every 660,000 residents, while the smallest, Wyoming, has an electoral vote for about every 170,000.2. They will add all the electoral votes in all 50 states, the one who has the highest no. of electoral votes is the Winner.

Any Questions ?????  Complicated hindi ba ?  They take the % of the popular vote which in turn became the electoral votes …..
Sa Pilipinas, they only used the total no. of Popular votes to determined the winner but not here.

      End of History Lesson………….hehehe…..just kidding guys…. W

Palagay ko si Obama ang mananalo.........masyadong masungit si Hillary........ Grin

Obama is little bit ahead of Hillary right now by Delegate Votes counts. It is a  very close race between the two of them.
Hillary is too aggressive, too demanding, hot tempered.  Obama is very likable & more popular than Hillary …..
FYI ---Obama is very intelligent person, he was Magna c*m laude of his J.D. law at Harvard, a very famous prestigious University……..Most of the Ex-Pres. Of USA are Harvard graduates of Law.
Obama was also a Law professor  at Columbia Univ. law school before he became a Senator. All three candidates has very  IMPRESSIVE  RESUME.
