COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING
Definition: Community health nursing is the synthesis of public health and the nursing practice . Probation of diseases and the maintenance of health and early diagnosis. (Dr. Winslow) Goal: Promotion of the client's optimum level of functioning through teaching and delivery of care. Philosophy: Based on the worth and the dignity of man. The primary focus of CHN practice is HEALTH PROMOTION. Community health nurses are generalists in terms of their practice. Family is the unit of service. HEALTH TEACHING is the primary responsibility of the commnity health nurse. |
