To those of you who likes the Shooting games, this is the thread for you! Before we start the discussion, I have some facts for you guys to know first.

Each shooting games have their own categories, but as of now we only have two:

* First-Person Shooter (FPS)
In other words, playing the shooting using the first person perspective (point of view) where the action is seen through the eyes of the character you are using in the game. You may not see a lot of detail of the character being used in FPS since you can only see the weapon you're holding and sometimes your hands, but the surroundings of the game is just epic! Some of the shooting games that belongs to this categy would be Call Of Duty series, Counter-Strike, Left 4 Dead, Far Cry 2, Bioshock, Resistance 2, Unreal Tournament series, etc. Every generation and years, the FPS gameplays are getting better! As of 2006, in terms of revenue for publishers, the first person shooter was one of the biggest and fastest growing video game genres.

* Third-Person Shooter (TPS)
A genre of 3-Dimensional actions in which the character is visible on-screen which is the third person point of view/perspective. This shooter game emphasizes the challenge of aiming and shooting which is also in the FPS. There are lot more actions that a TPS character can do than the First person shooting, for example, hiding, jumping on platforms, engaging in close combat, or driving a vehicle. Although they have a limited amounts of ammunitions to carry, which makes the whole gameplay realistic. In TPS, you can see every actions that your character is doing, even the damages that your character takes in each body parts. The difference in perspective also has an impact on the gameplay. Third-person shooters allow players to see the area surrounding the avatar more clearly. One of the most popular TPS games is Gears of War series, which is only on Xbox 360 and PC (GOW 1 only). I love this game to death!

* Some games belongs to both categories like FPS Halo: Combat Evolved which was actually designed as a third-person shooter, but added a first-person perspective to improve the interface for aiming and shooting. The game switches to a third-person viewpoint when the avatar is piloting a vehicle. I personally like both categories of Shooter since I own most of the top rated shooter games such as Halo 3, Gears of War 1 and 2, Left 4 Dead, etc. I just couldn't get enough of both, I'm always a fan of them both because of their games!

i like both, for action FPS and for observation TPS
sa TPS pede mong makita yung iaambush mo (na lagi kong ginagawa sa CS ) and FPS for sniping, kahit d ako nakatingin sa scope pede mo parin patamaan, tapataan mo lang yung kalaban(70% effective for close combat lalo na kung magnum gamit 1 shot 1 kill )

yeah, maganda talaga ang FPS pag combats na medium to long range..
di siya maganda pag walang action, kc very limited view of actions kasi..
ang TPS nmn, magiging parang FPS siya kapag may combat na kc kailangan diretso ang pagkakakita sa crosshair pag bumabaril..

Di ko na nga siya mahintay eh..
Ayoko bilhin yung World At War kasi di ko siya nagandahan ng husto di tulad ng Modern Warfare 1!

di ko lam sa iba, malamang mare-release siya ng mas late ng konti..
kailangan pa kc muna nila gumawa ng PAL version, sa US kc NTSC madalas kaya nauuna d2..

- Bioshock 2 (Postponed to 2010)
- Halo 3: ODST (September 22, 2009)
