From Heaven...

I have been hurt so many times by men,
I wouldn't know where to start, or where to begin.
I had begun to think they were all the same,
Just with different looks and a different name.

The lies they told had broken my heart,
But it was the truth they hid that tore us apart.
I was sure I would never find
Someone that I could call all mine.

Then one day, as I was walking around,
I saw a feather as it floated to the ground.
Being curious, I went to where it had been seen,
Wondering what this feather could possibly mean.

I looked and looked for the feather I saw,
When suddenly you appeared, standing so tall.
Was this my imagination doing tricks for free,
Or was this just the beginning of another heartache
  for me?

I could tell by one look at you,
That you could rip a heart completely in to.
Never had I seen someone so perfect.
But would the heartache, in the end, be worth it?

Would I be willing to feel the pain,
If this was just another game?
Or could it be possible that it was you
That God had sent to be true?

Just one look was all it had taken,
For my heart to feel a little shaken.
Was I ready to start anew,
With someone that looked as incredible as you?

It was at that moment that I decided
That you could remove the hurt that had resided
Deep in my heart for, oh, so long.
I think you could make this hurt be gone.

So I think I'll give love one more try,
And if I'm betrayed I think I will die.
But maybe this time, this one will be
The one I will have for eternity.
