Mar Roxas Rating Drops in Latest Survey
Senator Mar Roxas lost nine statistical points in just a span of three months as seen in the latest survey of the Social Weather Station (SWS) on the preffered vice presidential candidates of Filipino voters in nest year's elections.

From a rating of 40 percent in the September 18-21 SWS survey, Roxas plunged to a rating of 31 percent in the November 4-8 SWS survey which used face-to-face interviews of 1,200 registered voters divided into random samples of 300 each in Metro Manila, the Balance of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Senator Loren Legarda came at in second with 26 percent of the respondents giving her the nod, followed by outgoing Vice President Noli De Castro (16%), Senator Francis Escudero (14%) and Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay (9%).

Legarda gained three points from her September rating of 23 percent, allowing her to narrow the gap between her and Roxas from 17 statistical points three months ago to just five points in the November survey.

The five point spread between Roxas and Legarda is very thin and may be considered a statistical tie, considering the survey's margin of error at the national level of plus-minus three percent, the observer's noted.

In another survey commissioned by a national daily last November 2-9, Roxas also dropped by eight points, getting 29 percent from his 37 percent survey performance in the October 22-30 Pulse Asia survey.

In the presidential race, Senator Noynoy Aquino received 47 percent, followed by Senator Manny Villar (20%), Senator Francis Escudero and Joseph Estrada (each with 21%).

De Castro and former defense chief Gilbert Teodoro each had three percent.

SWS said it disclosed the survey's pertinent results and technical details for the benefit of the public "in view of a sponsor-authorized publication of a commissioned survey."

The special survey was sponsored by Puerto Princesa City Mayor Edward Hagedorn.

SWS said in it's website that the Commisiion on Elections' latest counts of Registered Voters, by region and area, as of November 2009, were used to weight regional estimates to obtain area estimates, and to weight area estimates to obtain national estimates.
