Decreasing stress is definitely the Number 1 benefit of yoga! Yoga and its amazing breathing techniques have been proven to lower heart rate, blood pressure and brain wave activity. I have seen it time and time again with my students. Just by slowing down and relaxing the breath, the mind and body automatically follow suit.

Yoga is perhaps the only form of activity which massages all the internal glands and organs of the body in a thorough manner, including those – such as the prostate - that hardly get externally stimulated during our entire lifetime. Yoga acts in a wholesome manner on the various body parts. This stimulation and massage of the organs in turn benefits us by keeping away disease and providing a forewarning at the first possible instance of a likely onset of disease or disorder.

Yoga are very good for health. Yoga makes health perfect and make you active all day.

Yoga make the healthy mind. I have heard so many benefits of the Yoga. Even I have also felt although. I feel that I am so healthier than previously. We know that We can remove so many disease through the Yoga.

You don't have to tell me... I am a BIG fan of yoga. Like the OP wrote, it helps the mind/body/and soul. I wished that I had started yoga in my early 20's.
Love yoga!!! I am loving it, feeling it... Been practacing it for over a year now. If you do try yoga, try to attend 5 classes with varying instructors. Each one brings a different flow/style to the class AND it takes a few class to get the flow decently down. The path to hell is paved by good intention. I want to help others but might be hurting them more so here is to Zen and doing nothing.

Hi there,
I have tried relaxation meditation and done a bit of yoga, I found the benefits massive! When I struggled the most with anxiety I used breathing meditation and listened to relaxation cd's, I did yoga for dummies but never pursued it that far! I haven't done any serious meditation for the last 4 months as I have felt well, but I am just starting to feel the stress again, so I am looking at relaxation techniques that I can associate with every part of my day. When would you recommend that this type of meditation be carried out? Thanks LK |
