So my xbox 360 wont stop freezing...
![]() So my xbox 360 keeps freezing after 10 to 15 minutes, regardless of what I play, disc, hard drive, arcade game or even sitting at the dashboard. I tried the guide on their site to resolve freezing issues and it still does it, and its out of warranty so I'd have to pay to get it fixed. So basically I can trade it in at gamestop, use the money towards one of three things, a new 360, a ps3 or take the cash and put it towards my computer in the form of a 2nd 5770. I do have quite a few friends that I play games on xbox live with, including my roommates. Edit: Tried to put a poll on this but I guess I messed that up and can't figure out how to add it. Oh well, I'm at a friends place and theres a bunch of people I haven't seen in awhile here so I'm just gonna ask you to post your suggestions, thanks. |

RE: So my xbox 360 wont stop freezing...
Hey man, you came at the right place..
I own a 360 myself and I can pretty much relate with your situation.. Your Xbox 360 freezes is PROBABLY because the fan is broken.. My 360 freezes too every after 5 minutes at some games, most importantly sports, or games from EA most of the time.. It kept on happening as soon as my 360 got the RROD and sent for repairs before the 2-year warranty was gone months ago.. It sucks because when I got my 360 brand new and before the RROD, it never froze on me on any games no matter how long I play.. What I don't get though is that why does it freezes on xbox dashboard??? Sounds like an internal thing which I haven't heard before, because the dashboard is supposed to neutralize everything and nothing bad should happen while you're in the dashboard unless you're close to getting RROD.. My advice is don't try and fix it yourself unless you're familiar with the problem, if its common. Like this one, you should get it looked up first on what's causing the problem before deciding what to do. So ask for advice, if its a fan problem, I've seen a fan at ebay that's really good for your xbox coz its a lot powerful than the factory ones, and it glows in a color of your choice, so make sure you check that out! Another thing, when you trade it in at gamestop, you should know that you'll get a very low value. That's what gamestop is good at! And no, they won't give you cash when you trade it. The value after you trade it to them will be put towards the item you plan on getting, in this case probably a game, or any accessories of your choice. They used to have the policy that lets the buyer keep the gamestop credits in their card and use it for later but they've changed it. |
