Healthy Foods For The Non- Cooking Cooks
If the cook of the house is laid low, don't panic.
Here are suggestions for some ultra simple dishes. But they are aren't just simple, they are healthy, nourishing appetising food that is just as good for the rest of the family as for the invalid. • Tomato Soup Out of The Can Add a little freshly grated carrots, orange juice and yoghurt. • Welsh Rarebit Mash a tablespoon of grated cheese into a smooth paste with a little milk, add a dash of white pepper, a hint of curry powder and a few drops of Worcestershire sauce. Grill a slice of wholewheat bread on one side only , spread the mixture on the uncooked side and place under the grill until brown and bubbling. • Sardines On Toast Mash the sardines with a little of their own oil and a spot of paprika. • Baked Beans On Wholewheat Toast Open up a tin, it's that easy. • A Baked Potato Choose firm, medium sized potatoes, wash them thoroughly, prick them with a fork, and put them onto top shelf in an oven heated to 200º , for about 45 minutes, or until they feel crisp on the outside, with a slight give when you feel them. Slash them half open, and serve with a big dollop of cottage cheese, one of the interesting varieties with chives or other additions. ' don't be so insecure to that person you think having a better life than you do, coz sometimes, that one thing you're jealous of, is the only thing she has, and of all the fun simple things you enjoy, who knew, she might have been praying so hard to be in your shoes.' - dkny |
