Health Benefits : Molasses
Molasses is the last extract from the cane when sugar is refined out of it.
Weight for weight, crude black molasses contains more calcium than milk, more iron than eggs, 3mg in one tbsp, and a very high level of potassium.
It is also rich in many B vitamins.
Its flavor is quite powerful.
It should not be eaten straight from the spoon as a matter of habit, because of its high sugar content, lethal to teeth and gums.
