Language Barrier

I blink for an instant
And words become dim,
Furrowed with white lines
The sentences swim


The black of my eyes
Seem to scream with the pain
Of a field of barrel letters
Attacking my brain


And shielding the meaning
In symbols and signs
For the ideas are trapped
Behind well-guarded lines


And against their defenses
My willpower is weak
So I get into bed
And forget about Greek.
