I guess I just assumed that this feeling
Would leave as quickly as it came
But after countless nights of trying
I still feel the same

You said you just want to be friends
Why does that sound like an excuse?
I know I shouldn't give in so easily
But fighting? Whats the use?

I can't change the way you feel
You've made that all too clear
But you'll have to forgive me
If I can't seem to stop the tears

I just wish you would have given me a chance
And something may have started
But you've slammed the door in my face
Not knowing I'd be broken-hearted

I tell myself that one day you'll come around
Maybe for your own sake
But maybe feeling anything for you
Has all been a huge mistake

And now I'm caught between two worlds
Should I settle for friends or hope for more?
I just wish
That I knew what it was I was wishing for
