Tweaking Your Modem for Extra Speed

Modem Tweaks to Consider :

Our Internet modem tweaks may help you acquire a faster modem speed by
changing a few settings.

Modem tweaks and fumbling fingers do not work well together. ALWAYS write down
your existing settings BEFORE changing anything. This way you can easily change back
to your original settings if you make a mistake or the tweak does not work for your
particular modem. Filipinoes.net and the moderators are NOT responsible for any problems
you may encounter by using the modem tweaks below - you are tweaking at your own
risk.

Lets Begin :

Step 1 -->  Click on "START"

Step 2 -->  Open your Control Panel

Step 3 -->  Open Phone & Modem Options
                  [note to XP USER's : Switch back to Classic View located on the left side]

Step 4 -->  Select MODEM tab

Step 5 -->  Select your MODEM and click on PROPERTIES

Step 6 -->  Click on ADVANCED tab

Step 7 -->  You will see a box that says ADVANCED SETTINGS
                        and under is a text box with EXTRA INITIALIZATION COMMANDS

Step 8 -->  Inside the text box input  >>            &AX&FX                <<    exactly how you see it here..

Step 9 -->  Click OK

Step 10 --> Click OK


and your done .. test your newly tweak modem and if it doesn't work  revert all your setting to original values ..

I used the Tips above now my speed increased,thanks for the Modem tweaking tips....I checked my speed of my Broadband connection at here Ip-details.com My Uploading speed is 0.181 Mbps and Downloading speed is 3.587Mbps
