the problem is just how you fight your feelings towards it.. specially when seeing how much the person you left misses you...
persevere and you won't have any problem...
but don't act like you've forgotten the people you left..
well, that's just me haha...

welcome lonelygal...nice input !!

i disagree with you in one point though....we have NOT forgotten the people or family & friends we left behind....we always think about them..if u forget your roots, where u came from, it is like u r a lost soul in the midst of vast wilderness....Grin

the next closest thing we have to feel like we are in pinas is here in fnets....the place to be where u meet ur kababayans, that is why u & me is here right now..... Zzb

thanks lonelygal....come again ...  Grin

I'm basstard .. I live in Orange County, Southern California for about 1.5 years now. I lived in Jacksonville, Florida for 10 years.

Jobs I had >>  The First Job I had was in dairy queen but only worked there for 3 days  Grin , I wanted to go to school before working !! Then after school I got a job at Tyson Foods Inc. [a chicken processing plant], I had to start from the dirties job available and worked my way to a management position after a year. I was the youngest and only asian in the management team, and I was also the shortest coz' most of them were african-american, I was already 5'7" at that time  but I'm still the shortest and they called me "SHORTY" hehehe. Worked there until 2003 when corporate decided to close the plant, they offered me the same position in North Carolina but I hate Cold Weather and Snow so I decided to stay in Florida .. Then My family convinced me to move here California.. because I had some experience on machines I landed a job in a missile case building facility [we make cases for the patriot missiles]. But I decided to change field and started to study nursing.

Life here compared to PINAS >> Life is boring coz' everybody works pretty much everyday !!, You won't see any people on the street you still have to go to the mall to meet people, I miss a lot of my favorite foods that I can only get in the phillipines like barbeque isaw, tenga, adidas etc.. And most of all SAN MIG and GIN !!!!

Advice sa mga pupunta dito >> wag kayong papa-sindak sa mga american's takot sila sa asian's lalo na sa pinoy !!!, pag inagrabyado kayo dito tawagan nyo lang ako tapos sabay tayong tumakbo palayo.. hehehe just kidding !! sa tagal ng stay ko dito nalaman kong majority ng mga american's takot sa atin !!,, saka malaki inggit nila sa Pinoy dahil masipag daw ang pinoy !!! mas magandang kaibiganin ang mga puti...they are friendly, nice and very outspoken....hindi sila Fake....if they dont like you, they tell it to you in front of your face....i like that trait they have...no stabbing behind your back... Grin

Re: Pilipinos na nakatira sa ibang Bansa
i juz noticed ha.. nung bago ako dito.. they kept asking me if i was chinese.. japanese or korean! i mean.. di naman ako chinita! kasi d2.. kapag sinabi mong asian ka.. yun lang ang alam nila!! (no offense kung may american d2.. pero yun ang madalas talagang matanong sa akin!)

but all i can say was, they usually view asians as smart ones... (yeah!).. yung iba may pagka-racist sa katawan.. SOME hispanics view asians as DORKS.. which drives me MAD!...
