Sepia Photo Effect Tutorial

1. Open photo desired.

2. double click it in the layer palette to make it a layer instead of a background.

3. go to image>>adjustment>>hue/saturation. check the colorize box and input these numbers.


*note: you may stop until step 3. steps 4-10 is by request already.


4. using the eyedropper tool click on the background of your photo to set the foreground color. make a new layer and fill it using paintbucket tool.


5.use the rectangular marquee tool and set the feather to 10px. create a rectangle inside layer 1. fill the rectangle with white.


6. on the bottom of the layer palette, click the third object from the left to add vector mask. (for photoshop cs2 users)
for photoshop 7 users, go to layer>>add layer mask>>reveal all.



7. using the elliptical marquee tool set the feather to 5px and create a circle on layer 1. the circle depends on how big you want your photo to appear.


8. click on the layer mask thumbnail and fill the circle with black. your photo should become visible after that.


9. then use the paintbrush tool and paint along the edges of the circle to make it more visible.


10. after that i went to layer>>flatten image and filter>>smart sharpen. this is my end product.

mare, yung sa number 8, pag-fill ko ng circle with black, black tlga ang fill nya hindi lumabas yung pic.

atsaka yung sa layer pallete yung unang button na mukhang chain wala sa doon sa pallete ko..

anong dapat kong gawin. ano mali na ginawa ko.

mare wag mo intindihin ung unang button na wala sa layer palette mo. d kailangan yun. iclick mo lng ung add vector mask button. yun ung rectangle na may circle sa loob na button sa ilalim ng layer palette. tapos bago mo ifill ng color black ung circle eh click mo muna ung layer mask thumbnail. yun ung asa right side sa layer1.

mare, ito ang lumabas. hindi ko gets bakit hindi sepia yung edges.

ah malaki kasi ung pic ko compared sau. bawasan mo ung feather sa rectangle saka sa circle.

mali pala mare. alam ko na. eto tama na to. eto step 6 mo go to layer>>add layer mask>>reveal all. tapos sundin mo na from 7 onwards.
