Re: Tell us about your lifestyle.
lifestyle ko sa pinas:
kapag school days lagi akong tambay kasama ng mga classmates ko and whole day ung class. tambay lang kahit saan and kahit sandali lang. tapos sa haus naman pagkauwi ko eh matutulog ako at bihira lang ako maginternet nun. kapag may kailangan lang talaga ako. weekends naman eh watch ng tv and anime. plus lage din bumibisita mga friends ko sa haus. tambay lang. di din ako naglilinis ng bahay and i don't do my own laundry. i never drink coffee except kung all night sa pagaaral. text addict and kahit paminsan minsan eh magtetelepono ako. d din ako problemado sa pagkain kasi andun mom ko and laging may breakfast, lunch and dinner na nakaready na. in short buhay tamad and prinsesa ako dun. lifestyle ko sa us: dito sudden change. pagumuuwi ako ng haus walang tao sa haus kaya lage ako may dalang key. i do the laundry and most of the time problemado ako sa kakainin ko kaya din minsan nakakatamad na kumain. wala kasing magluluto kasi wala mom ko dito. half day lang classes ko and pagkagaling dun diretso uwi ako. wala masyado matambayan dito and busy ung mga tao. underage ako kaya i can't drink in public. di na din ako nagtetext. bihira lang. i call my friend often kahit nasa ibang state siya. i mind my own business here and wala ako paki sa iba. most of all i learned to be independent dito. ako nagdedecide kung ano and what classes i will take and clothes that i will wear. yan lang muna.

Re: Tell us about your lifestyle.
I am totally dependent with my family for everything I need, it is just handed to me when I asked for it. Sa USA --- totally reversed....I learned to be independent, i learn how to cook, wash & iron my clothes, buy groceries, open my own bank account, and i was force to learn how to drive a car because it is a necessity here. Malalayo ang mga offices plus you can not go anywhere without a car specially in california. My new lifestyle includes the ff: 1. Adapting the american way of life to fit in like ( hindi lahat, yong bad custom nila hindi kasali dito ) a. Being on time and making appointment wherever I go. b. Being frank, speaking out loud whatever is on my mind. c. I like to travel around different states to see the place and to compare how they live there. d. I mind my own business american way, i dont indulge in personal gossiping like what other pinoys do even when they are already here. e. I use my credit card or personal checking checks to pay everything i buy. People hardly carry cash here....this is the standard way of paying things here. In other words, if you use credit card, utang yang....kaya ang mga kano utangero...puro utang lahat ang bili dito...they use credit card from buying gas, movie tickets, grocery, auto, houses, traveling, eating at restaurants, everywhere gamit nila yang . Kaya isa na ako sa mga mahilig umutang...which i never did back home. ![]() next time ulit, i will think of some more things to add here....

Re: Tell us about your lifestyle.
d2 sa Canada..
iba lifestyle ng mga tao.. we dont see that much people outside the community or around the city especially during winter.. kc nga dahil sa sobrang lamig sa labas... tulad ngaun, its -30 degrees sa labas tapos -43 pa windchill tonight... sa Pinas, school time is from 8 AM to 5 PM... i still cant imagine its that long... d2 sa Canada, school is from 9 AM to 3:30 PM... right now, i still carry some cash kc nga wla pa ako account sa bangko and no credit cards yet... but once i work this coming summer.. hehe... did you guys experience eating rice with Americans? this happened to me once... its my second day of school i think, nung pasukan... eh wla pa ako gaano kilala nun, eh may cafeteria sa school namin sa basement.. dun ako kumakain pag lunch... eh di ko nmn alam na ayaw pla ng mga puti ang rice.. then may lumapit na teacher, tiningnan yung kinakain ko, kanin, sabi niya mga puto ayaw sa kanina kc daw they prefer as "HARD"..? ewan ko dun... so the next day and so, di na ako nagbaon ng kanin.. |

Re: Tell us about your lifestyle.
dito din u can freely use your cellphone sa school. kapag nagring ayos lang basta kung sasagutin mo eh labas ka lang ng room. pero xempre sinasabihan din kame na isilent or vibrate so as not to disturb the class. unlike sa pinas todo galit mga prof and nung hs nangunguha pa ng cellphone.

Re: Tell us about your lifestyle.
@ Darryl......for years now, i am used to not eating rice at lunch time, i eat sandwiches for lunch just like the rest of the people at work...we hang out at mcdonalds, burger king, taco bell & other junk food places....sanay na akong sandwich lang ang kinanakain.....but dinner time at night at home, i eat the usual pinoy food complete with rice,soup,etc.etc...
@ equinox.....yes....bawal ang cellphone in some private and public places here...lalo na sa loob ng cine, they will let you out for sure. Believe it or not, I dont have a cell phone...cause I dont want to own one even though i can afford it get one. sorry to say....i hate to see people with cell phone EVERYWHERE...specially those who are driving....they cause accident....kaya dito bawal mag-drive and talk on the cell at the same time, they give you a ticket if you get caught. kahit saan ka pumunta, lahat ng tao nasa tenga parati ang mga cell...they talked so loud specially in groceries, malls, Stores...nakakainis, it is annoying ....you can hear what they are saying even thou you dont want to listen...you can not avoid it....it is their right to have a cell but they should be discreet in using them and considerate with other people around them. |

Re: Tell us about your lifestyle.
my new lifestyle revolves around my computer a lot..
1. I do my banking on-line....i transfer money between my accounts. 2. I pay my bills on line ( store bills, doctors bills, car insurance, dmv registration, IRS income tax owed, etc.etc ) 3. I shop on line for books, dvd movies, shoes, clothes etc.etc. 4. I used either my personal checking checks OR my credit & debit card to pay everything I buy . 5. I make my personal appointments on line. 6. I apply for new job on line thru the company's website. since everything here is computerized, it is very convenient to do it on-line....it saves you time and trip to this places......99% of people here do their business on line since everyone here have computers at home. i spent my entire day in front of the computer !!!! ( kaya tuloy lumabo ang mata dahil sa pc ) |
