What do you do for a living..?
the title says it all...
I know most of us doesnt work here especially the under age in Phils coz di nmn uso nagwo-work diyan pag 14 years old ka... but here in states once you turned at least 14 1/2 up to 16, depends on the company you're working, they'll accept you based on your skills you put in your resume... as long as di ka mapili ng work, madami kang mahahanap or maghahanap sa'yo... anyways... I'm a part time cook in Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), still in training though... well, they haven't told me everything that's needed to learn yet, but yeah... I work there after school, depends on my schedule because there can't be like 4 cooks in one shift, the managers need to work things out.. so sometimes i get at least 3 shifts a week.. the reason why I chose to work is because I want to experience it, i've never done anything like this before, even in the Philippines.. well, i've worked for some of my relatives for just a day and i got like 100 pesos + at least in that day, which is not bad.. but this one is different.. and I chose to work here coz I want to feel comfortable around w/ my friends that i usually see and chill with at school.. for me, this is a good start... i'm getting paid fairly... the amount of money we get paid each hour became $8 last April (my first paycheck)... it was $7.65 before, but now it became $8 and it depends on your seniority, if you have like a year working there, u get like $8.50... LoL! well, i've been working here for 2 months and i'm liking it..! its a good way to start a job, coz my manager's are nice, especially my main manager.. he always thinks of his "employees first".. basta pag nagwo-work siya na kasabay namin, masaya ang KFC, kulang na lang i-greet niya lahat ng employees niya, well, madalas niya ginagawa yun, lagi siyang mabait sa mga employees, hindi yung balimbing... sana nga tumagal ako d2 sa work na toh, even though dmi na rin nag-q-quit nowadays... btw, KFC is always busy during tuesdays, fridays, and sometimes in weekends.. well, tuesday especially coz they have discounts on tuesdays, its called "toonie tuesday" kc when you buy it, they give u 2 chicken plus fries for only 2 bucks which is cool...! plus i get the discount for working there, and when i buy foods after working its 50% off so parang libre na din... LoL! it feels goooooooood to be independent nowadays, kc kung di ako magwo-work wla akong mapapala.. dahil dming gastusin, mas maganda kung sariling gastos, kc napapalitan mo eh kc we get paid every 2 weeks.. and i'm getting paid again this thursday..! mababawi ko na nmn mga gastos ko..! ![]() even though gagastos pa rin nmm ako... ![]() ang hirap mag-ipon ng pera pero ang daling gumastos... daaaang..! && i'm also a FULL TIME HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT and it will stay like that for few more years...! anyways... what about you guys? |

Re: What do you do for a living..?
i worked as a secretary before for thomas rea (owner of a real state company)
a very nice job yet its quite boring... i enjoyed meeting n dealing with people from different places... yet i felt like i didnt had a life that i cant go out n enjoy with my friends & family coz i was too busy... and because i was assigned to manage the houses, all blames were on me when something went wrong, even if its the maintenance staff's fault... jejeje... so i quited ... now im a juggler/waitress at fantasia(an italian restaurant) i gain ttttoooooottttt euros a month from d resto n ttoootttt euros for part time jobs... ![]() mgkaiba mxado eh noh?lolz...
