the promise

as long as the sun lights the sky
as long as there is you and i
and as long as you want me to
with my heart, i'll be loving you

when there is no more forever
and my heart beats to never
when there is no more night and day
that's when i will stop loving you

i know that my words are shallow
but i mean everything i say
i know that i can't be enough
but i'll always be here to stay

doesn't know how much i love you
all i know is that i love to
i love to love you and thats true
and not just because i want to

you held me on those rainy days
just when i couldn't see the sun
and the smile on your lovely face
always tells me that you're the one

and with all that is said and done
you'll always be the only one
i know its hard to believe, but
i swear, i'll never break your heart
