How do I activate my prepaid international text roaming?

Prepaid International Text Roaming is the latest amazing service from Smart to be offered to all Smart Buddy, Addict Mobile Prepaid and Talk ‘N Text subscribers. This shall allow them send and receive text messages while roaming in any of our international roaming destinations.

Activation and deactivation of this service can simply be done via

  1.  SMS
          * Just type ROAM ON / OFF and send it to 333.
  2. SIM Connect
          * Go to the Smart Menu
          * Choose SIM Connect
          * Choose Roam to activate and deactivate your international roaming service.
  3. Web Connect
          * Visit the Smart Buddy website at http://www.smart.com.ph/buddy/connect or Talk N Text website at http://www.smart.com.ph/talkntext/connect
          * Login your user ID (cellphone number) and password or if you are not a member yet, select Register and sign up using your cellphone number.
          * Select International Roaming activation/deactivation.
  4. Minimum Balance required to activate is P100.00

      The international text roaming shall allow subscribers to send and receive SMS messages and SMS VAS but disabling their voice features. Original subscriber profile shall only be restored upon feature deactivation.

How do I make calls while roaming?

1. Select "Call"
* For SMART Buddy Super SIM 2 and 3 subscribers:
              1. Select "Search Pbook"
              2. Enter the first letter of the name you wish to call.
              3. Select from the displayed ‘Contacts List,
              4. If ‘New Contact,: Enter desired phone number following this format:

                      + Country code Mobile code Mobile number

* For Super SIM 1 subscribers: Enter the number you wish to call following the format:

                + Country code Mobile code Mobile number

            Ex1: To call a Smart Subscriber, enter: + 63 918 1234567
            Ex2: To call a Philippine landline number, enter: + 63 2 1234567
2. Press Send.
3. Wait for the confirmation message: “Pls. wait, we are connecting your call… Pls. answer when the phone rings.”
4. Wait for your phone to ring (do not use your phone while waiting for the call back service). Answer the call. You will hear a ringing tone at the end of the line. Wait for the destination number to pick up.

How do I send text messages while roaming?

1. Simply type in your text message and send it to the destination number using the international format below:

          + Country code Mobile code Mobile number

      Ex: To send a text message to a SMART subscriber, simply send to: + 63 918 1234567
2. Cost per text message sent P20. Each text message is limited to 160 characters.

How do I check my load balance while roaming?

Via Text

Roamer sends ?1515 to 214

Via Smart Menu

Roamer selects SMART Menu, then Buddy Balance

How do I reload while roaming?

Via Text

Text RELOAD <14-digit Card PIN> and send to 1510.

Note: Charges apply when reloading via text.

Via Smart Money (using Super Sim 3)

  1. Go to your SMART Menu, select SMART Money
  2. Choose Load Airtime
  3. Choose where to Pay From
  4. Select a preset Amount or choose Others
  5. Key-in your W-PIN
  6. You will then receive a text message confirming the amount successfully transferreed

Note: You will be charged per airtime reload via Smart Money.

Please help naman po!  I brought my Smart Buddy Sim Card here in Bahrain and forgot to activatea my roaming (ROAM ON to send to 333). Can I activate it online? Wala kasing signal when I'm trying to open it.  Is there any option or way na ma-activate ko ito kahit nadala ko na dito sa Bahrain ang Smart Buddy Sim Card ko.  Salamat po

ay ang alam ko dapat dito pa  lang sa Philippines iactivate na. nangyare yan sa papa ko eh. kaya nagpadala na lang ulet kame ng sim sa kanya kasi nakalimutan nyang iactivate bago umalis
